*** For all of the sessions this week, players should always have BOTH their sneakers and their cleats. If the weather is fairly warm then we will head outdoors but if it is cold, wet, windy, etc.. then the practices will remain in the gym at Hernewood. We will post on our Facebook page each day in the afternoon as to what the plan is for that particular day.

Team Notes for each group:
Under 9 Girls & Boys Travel teams (Community programs):
For anyone who has signed up for the community under 9 programs, those games & practices will start around the end of June/first of July once school is pretty much wrapped up. We will be looking to make teams on the girls and on the boys side each from Tignish, O’Leary, Alberton and Ellerslie and they will be playing a game a week every Thursday night as well as their weekly practice in their community. If anyone is interested in helping to coach a community team please email Brian at allainbrian@hotmail.com
As well though for this age group, we do offer anyone who is registered the chance to come out and try to make one of our Under 9 travel teams. These teams will be put together to try and get the players ready for when they move up to Under 11. There will be a practice most likely every couple of weeks thru the summer and the teams will attend a couple of one day festivals that a couple of other clubs host. The only rule is that anyone who makes an Under 9 travel team MUST play in the community program as well during the summer.
Under 11 Girls & Boys Competitive teams:
Just to give everyone a small update on these groups. We currently have 39 girls who registered and 24 boys who registered, the plan is to have 3 girl’s teams and 2 boy’s teams as we definitely want to find a place for every player to play if at all possible. Tryouts will continue for this week and next week and then we will hopefully be ready to put the teams together.
Under 13 Girls & Boys Competitive teams:
Just to give everyone a small update on these groups. We currently have 24 boys who are registered and 19 girls who are registered. We definitely want to have two teams on the boys side since we technically have enough players to do so but in order for that to happen we will need everyone to be committed after the team selections have been made. We would put 12 players on each team and if everyone is willing to play regardless of what team they are on, then we can have two teams. We would put the teams in the first and second division respectively. The second division team players can be called up to first division for games and then under 11 players can be called up to both teams for games so having enough players to play every game really shouldn’t be an issue.
On the girl’s side with the number being at 19 that is too many for one team but unfortunately not enough for two teams. With the Under 11 girls having enough for 3 teams, pulling players up to play all summer to make a second under 13 team is not an option. For anyone who doesn’t make the under 13 team they will be offered the chance to continue to train this summer and anytime anyone is missing they may get called in to play a game.
Under 15 Girls & Boys Competitive teams:
Unfortunately, we have only had 1 player register at the under 15 boys level so we will not be able to field a team at that level. We do have enough players registered for the under 15 girls team so that team will be put into the first division league and they will play their league game every Tuesday night starting on May 26.
Under 18 Girls & Boys Competitive teams:
Much like the under 15 boys, we have very small numbers at the under 18 boys level. We would still like to see a team there but we would need many more players to register in the next 7 to 10 days before the deadline to declare teams with PEI Soccer is reached. We do have a full squad for the under 18 girls and that team will be playing in the premier division. These games are also on Tuesday nights, starting on May 26 for the under 18 girls.
