Competitive team update

Just wanted to send around some updates with regards to our competitive teams. Final decisions have been made on the girl’s side but we still have some work to do on the boy’s side with some decisions to make for those teams.

UNDER 11 GIRLS
This will be the first year that PEI Soccer goes with 3 divisions of play for Under 11. There will be a division 1, division 2 and division 3 league for both boys and girls. All games will take place either on Friday evening or Saturday a little earlier in the day. We will be fielding a division 2 team and a division 3 team for the girls. The rosters are as follows:

I plan to be coaching with both teams and will line up some assistant coaches for the days that I can’t make it as there will definitely be some days that I just can’t get there with my work schedule. I also draw up the schedules for the Island for league play so I am hoping to try and make things work so that both teams will play at home on the same weekend one weekend and both play away on another weekend with times set up as such that I can hopefully make both games. That will also be done to try and help both teams bring in players for games since this league is considered to be played with open rosters where players can be called up or called down if we are short players.
I know there were a few under 9 girls who have been out to the tryouts - for the moment I am not keeping any of the under 9 girls on the under 11 teams but we are going to move ahead and try to get an under 9 travel team in place (or teams if we get a lot of interest). These tryouts for the under 9 travel team will take place soon, just waiting to see what the weather is going to be like next week. The plan is to have the under 9 travel team come together and train for a practice session every couple of weeks and then attend a couple of the one day mini-soccer festivals that other clubs host. It is not going to be a huge time commitment but rather a chance to get a little extra training/game play in preparing for Under 11 next year. The tryouts will be open to both first and second year under 9’s.
UNDER 11 BOYS
As with the girls, this will be the first year that PEI Soccer goes with 3 divisions of play for Under 11. There will be a division 1, division 2 and division 3 league for both boys and girls. We are still working on final decisions with the teams but we are not ready to post the final rosters as of yet. We may have one more session this upcoming week just to confirm things up, more details to follow.

We will have one team for the under 13 girls and they will play in the first division with games on Thursday nights starting on May 29. The roster for the under 13 girls team is as follows:

UNDER 13 BOYS
We will have one team for the under 13 boys and they will also play in the first division with games on Thursday nights starting on May 29. We are going to need to have one more session before we make final decisions on the team roster, we will let everyone know soon when this final session will be, just waiting on the weather forecast.
UNDER 18 GIRLS
We did get enough girls to have two teams for Under 18. The Under 18 premier girls will play on Tuesday nights starting on May 20th with a game at 7 pm in Summerside. The Under 18 first division girls will play on Wednesday nights starting on May 28, time and location to be determined. The rosters for the two teams are as follows:
